Markets

Shiiv Imports already sources for international clients across Asia (China, Thailand, Vietnam and India), the Pacific (Fiji and Vanuatu), the Middle East (Dubai), the USA and Europe. We quote Australian and New Zealand dairy to buyers in these markets and beyond. Southeast Asia, the Pacific and the Gulf are active dairy markets for Australian and New Zealand product. For Fiji, grocery, dairy and grain lead. Beverage tariffs there are very high, so dairy is a stronger Pacific brief than wine.

Registration and certificates

Dairy made in Australia from cow's milk is a prescribed export. Dairy exported to New Zealand is non-prescribed, so it does not need a DAFF export permit or establishment registration while that remains the case. DAFF: https://www.agriculture.gov.au/biosecurity-trade/export/controlled-goods/dairy/exporters Prescribed dairy must come from an export-registered establishment with an approved arrangement, and the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF) issues an export permit for every shipment, plus a health certificate where your market requires one. The exporter of record, where it legally owns the goods, registers in NEXDOC through a TradeClear account, and the permit is issued in its name.

Questions importers ask

What documents do I need to import Australian dairy into Singapore?

Prescribed Australian dairy needs a DAFF export permit for every shipment and a health certificate where Singapore requires one, plus commercial documents and a preferential Certificate of Origin if you claim the AANZFTA rate. We check MICoR (https://micor.agriculture.gov.au) and confirm Singapore's import requirements with your importer in writing before shipment.

Can Australian UHT milk be shipped by sea container?

Yes. UHT milk is shelf stable and ships in dry containers, alone or with other grocery lines.

Can I get UHT milk under my own brand?

Yes. We arrange private label UHT milk with Australian dairy manufacturers to your artwork and your market's labelling rules.

Do Australian dairy exports need a government certificate?

Prescribed Australian dairy needs a DAFF export permit for every shipment, issued through NEXDOC, and a health certificate where the market requires one. It must come from an export-registered establishment. Dairy exported to New Zealand is non-prescribed, so it does not need a DAFF export permit or establishment registration while that remains the case. Do you supply New Zealand dairy too?

Yes. Our Auckland desk can source New Zealand dairy for third markets, exported under MPI exporter registration (AP1) and MPI market access requirements.

Do you supply infant formula?

No. Infant formula is outside our export range.
