Australian grocery products for overseas importers and retailers

Shiiv Imports sources pantry, snack, breakfast, beverage and specialty grocery lines from Australian and New Zealand manufacturers for importers and retailers overseas, and consolidates them into mixed containers. Origin is stated for each product, with the supplier's evidence on file. Halal-certified options are available where the supplier holds certification for that product.

What we source

  • Pantry: sauces, spreads, oils, baking and cooking staples.
  • Breakfast: cereals, oats and spreads.
  • Snacks and confectionery.
  • Beverages, except where a market's tariffs make them a poor lead. Beverage tariffs in Fiji are very high, so grocery, dairy and grain lead there.
  • Specialty lines for expat and gourmet retail.

Mixed containers

Lines from several Australian and New Zealand suppliers in one container, under one contract and one set of documents.

Origin, product by product

We state origin in the forms set by Australia's Country of Origin Labelling (CoOL) Standard, product by product, with the supplier's evidence on file. Typical forms are "Product of Australia" or "Grown in Australia" for products made wholly from Australian ingredients, "Made in Australia from at least X% Australian ingredients" for products made here with some imported ingredients, and "Packed in Australia" (with its ingredient percentage statement) for products packed here. The percentage is always the actual figure for that product.

Labels for your market

Your market's labelling law decides the label. We agree with you and the supplier who prepares, checks and approves it before production.

Sugar, on enquiry

Refined and specialty sugar in retail and foodservice packs from Australian suppliers, on enquiry and usually as part of a mixed load. Sugar is a non-prescribed export unless your market requires a phytosanitary certificate, in which case it needs an Australian export permit as well.

Markets

Shiiv Imports already sources for international clients across Asia (China, Thailand, Vietnam and India), the Pacific (Fiji and Vanuatu), the Middle East (Dubai), the USA and Europe. We quote Australian grocery lines to importers in these markets and beyond. For Fiji and Vanuatu, grocery is a lead category. See Pacific Islands supply: https://www.shiivimports.com.au/export/pacific-islands-supply

Private label grocery

Your brand on grocery lines made by Australian manufacturers, with the correct CoOL Standard origin statement for each product. See private label with Australian manufacturers: https://www.shiivimports.com.au/export/private-label-australian-manufacturers

Quality

Suppliers hold food safety certification relevant to each product. Orders are handled under Shiiv's ISO 9001 quality management system, within its certified scope.

Questions importers ask

Can Shiiv ship a mixed container of Australian groceries?

Yes. We consolidate lines from several Australian and New Zealand suppliers into one container, with one contract and one set of export documents.

What origin statement will my Australian grocery products carry?

One of the Country of Origin Labelling Standard forms, chosen per product: for example "Product of Australia", "Made in Australia from at least X% Australian ingredients" or "Packed in Australia". We confirm the exact statement and the supplier's evidence before you order. Your market's labelling law decides what must appear on the export label.

Do Australian grocery labels need to change for my market?

Often yes. The importing country's labelling law applies. We agree who prepares and approves the label before production.

Are halal-certified Australian grocery products available?

Yes, where the supplier holds halal certification for that specific product. Certificates are shared per product.

Can I buy Australian sugar?

Yes, refined and specialty sugar in retail and foodservice packs, on enquiry, usually within a mixed load. An Australian export permit is needed only where your market requires a phytosanitary certificate for sugar.
