Australian fruit and vegetables
Australian fruit and vegetables for overseas importers
Shiiv Imports sources Australian fresh, frozen and processed fruit and vegetables for importers, retailers and foodservice buyers overseas. Packhouse registration and phytosanitary requirements are checked for each market before an order. We also plan mixed reefer loads, so one importer can bring in several lines in one container.
Fresh, frozen and processed lines. Packhouse and phytosanitary checks are confirmed per market before an order.
What we source
- Fresh fruit such as citrus and table grapes, in season and where your market's protocol allows.
- Frozen fruit and vegetables.
- Processed lines: canned, dried and prepared.
Protocols and packhouses
All fresh fruit and vegetables are prescribed exports from Australia. They are packed at a registered packhouse, inspected and certified with an export permit and, where required, a phytosanitary certificate. Protocol markets also need accredited properties and specific treatments. Produce described as organic needs an organic goods certificate for every consignment. Market access differs by fruit and by country, so we confirm the protocol in MICoR (https://micor.agriculture.gov.au) and with your importer before quoting.
Mixed reefer loads
Several chilled or frozen lines in one reefer for one importer, where temperatures are compatible.
Markets
Shiiv Imports already sources for international clients across Asia (China, Thailand, Vietnam and India), the Pacific (Fiji and Vanuatu), the Middle East (Dubai), the USA and Europe. We quote Australian fruit and vegetables to importers in these markets and beyond, subject to each market's protocol.
Seasons
Southern hemisphere seasons give northern buyers counter-season supply. We share a season calendar per product with the quote.

Questions importers ask
Can Australian fresh fruit be imported into my country?
It depends on the fruit and the market. Each country sets its own protocol, which can include accredited properties, registered packhouses and treatments. We confirm access before quoting.
What is a phytosanitary certificate?
A government certificate stating that a plant product meets the importing country's plant health requirements. In Australia it is issued after inspection for each consignment.
Can I mix several fruit and vegetable lines in one reefer?
Yes, where the products share a temperature range. We plan the load with you.
Do you supply frozen and processed lines as well as fresh?
Yes. Frozen and processed fruit and vegetables travel well and often have simpler import requirements than fresh produce.
When are Australian citrus and table grapes in season?
Australian citrus runs mainly through the southern winter and spring, and table grapes through the southern summer and autumn. We share a calendar per product.
